This landscape is in Geographic Harbor on the coast of Katmai National Park, Alaska. There were grizzlies all over this shoreline, working up and down the low-tide rivulets, looking for salmon. The mountainsides were clothed in Alaska's luxuriant summer greens - a riot of vegetation on every surface that wasn't pure rock. We were plenty close to the bears, and this scene is just one of many we saw there.
