Thanksgiving
oil on gesso panel, 18 x 24

We had been snowshoeing with friends up on a ridge across from the Grand Teton mountains, and by the time we came down off the butte the sun was setting. Many elk frequent this area, so it was easy to envision one working his way up the snowy slope. The title has several entendres for me - it was around Thanksgiving...giving thanks for seeing this beautiful winter sunset.
