Pure Gold
oil on canvas mounted on panel, 36 x 27

This image came from a desire to use some incredible reference material I had for backlit aspen in the fall - with the light throwing gold fingers across the dry grass - and a bull elk seen just for a moment in those aspen seemed right for the scene. I like titles with as many entendres in them as I can get - up to you to figure out all the ways to apply it to this picture!

This piece won an Award of Merit from R.S. Riddick (awarding judge) at the 2005 American Academy of Women Artists annual exhibition in Tucson. Cool!
