IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN:

  • Getting INCREDIBLE reference material (photographs and sketches) of spectacular animals, including predators, in a beautiful setting
  • With instruction and critique from nationally recognized, award-winning wildlife artist Julie T. Chapman -

THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR YOU!! -- MAXIMUM 10 PARTICIPANTS!!
** ALL LEVELS WELCOME **

This is one of the ONLY workshops of its kind -- where you spend 4 full days photographing and sketching/painting gorgeous animals FROM LIFE under the tutelage of an accomplished wildlife artist!

About the workshop:

We will:

  • Spend time 3 of the days with Triple D's gorgeous animals in natural settings! The fourth day we will focus entirely on sketching and painting.
  • Photograph and sketch from life with animals that are very difficult to see in the wild, such as cougars, bobcats, and others
  • Discuss construction of paintings from slides
  • Discuss marketing and the business of art
  • Develop our drawing skills with study sketches
  • Paint every day

We will ALSO have advance assignments (pre-work) that I will be asking you to bring to the workshop. I will provide more details a few months in advance.

Please see below for more details, including information on:
- FAQ page (how the photo shoots work, what a typical workshop day will be like, etc.)
- Detailed schedule

About Julie T. Chapman

Visit Julie's website

I am a self-taught artist specializing in wildlife; I've won many prestigious awards for my work (including the 2002 Arts for the Parks Grand Prize and the Society of Animal Artists Award of Excellence), and my work is being collected by museums and art aficionados all over America. Unlike many wildlife artists who focus on highly detailed 'photo-realist' paintings, I have an original style that incorporates both impressionist and expressionist influences. I will be coaching you on drawing and expression, and we will be focused on a highly interactive experience for critiques and discussions.

About Triple D Game Farm

Visit the Triple D website

Triple D Game Farm has been working with professional photographers for decades; whenever you see a postcard or calendar image with spectacular close-up photographs of North American predators, chances are good the picture was taken with Triple D. Triple D staff will be working with the animals to offer us natural behaviors in large open compounds with natural settings. The staff is informal and easy to work with, and the animals are gorgeous!

DATES: Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22, 2006.
