Art you can hold in your hands! And unique -- very few artists are using decoys as art canvases, instead of painting them realistically. This is a 3/4 size mallard carved from northern white pine obtained from a sustainably managed forest.
The decorations on this particular bird were inspired by the incredible 30,000+ year old artwork in Chauvet Cave; I've rendered some of the beautifully drawn horses, bison, and rhinos from that cave on this duck.
This duck was decorated with charcoals of various types to preserve the feel of the original cave art, and finished with a clear satin acrylic varnish, so it is impervious to dirt. It's a pleasure to handle, with its satiny smooth warm wood -- it's a guaranteed conversation piece, and one you can encourage others to touch.
